Do You Need a Travel Adapter for Taiwan?
Taiwan uses Type A and Type B sockets at 110 V, 60 Hz. Phone and laptop chargers from the US, Canada and Japan plug straight in. From the UK, Europe and Australia you need a Type B adapter. Single-voltage hair dryers from the UK, Europe and Australia also need a voltage converter.
Taiwan uses 110 V, 60 Hz with US-style Type A and B sockets. Many older buildings have only ungrounded Type A sockets. A separate 220 V supply exists for air conditioners and ovens but is not used for ordinary sockets.
